New York Mets are Tops in NL [David Stefanini]

The New York Mets really know how to provide entertainment. The Mets were down by 4 runs going into the bottom of the 9th against the Chicago Cubs. Then they just started hitting and didn't stop.

Listen to this written by Marty Noble of MLB.com:

"The Mets' five-run rally in the ninth inning and 6-5 victory it produced were October cool. Elvis cool. No other-side-of-the-pillow cool could compare. The grand ninth-inning comeback was the kind baseball event that has staying power, influence beyond itself. It probably won't matter on Friday night when the Yankees are in the other dugout or next week when the Mets' season returns to Atlanta. But it will be with the Mets into the summer and perhaps beyond, and it may fuel them."

If what Mr. Noble comes true, this is the kind of win that will awaken the bats of the already hot Mets. Going into this season they had questions marks about their pitching, and whether or not the improved Phillies and Braves would be to much to handle. So far this season the Mets have proved they are again the team to beat in the NL. They have an AL lineup, an amazing young pitcher in John Maine, and the return of Pedro drawing closer and closer with each passing day.

They are going to be exciting to watch and hopefully we will be able to see them playing in October.
